Located on Main Street (Route 63) in Lansdale, Montgomery County, PA, Hillcrest is a 145,000 sf community shopping center anchored by a Big Lots, Ace Hardware, and LaCrest Health Center, a branch of the North Penn YMCA. Other credit tenants at Hillcrest also include the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, Radio Shack, and Harleysville Savings Bank. Since its inception, Hillcrest has experienced a stable tenancy and an excellent consumer following.
With a total 2010 population of 137,000 and average household income of $108, 000 within 5 miles, Hillcrest enjoys a stable population with good employment rates. The employment base in the area is very strong, with several of the County's largest companies employing approximately 20,000 people within minutes of the center. These firms include Merck & Co. (13,000 employees, approximately 2.3 miles from Hillcrest), North Penn School District, Smithfield Meats, and Hatfield Quality Meats.
The center was fully leased for many years until the Ames bankruptcy and subsequent closing of all Ames stores in 2002.
